Saints Women prevailed in the top of the table clash at Crusader Park, coming away 20-14 victors.

In a game they were never behind, it was a pulsating clash that saw the sides go in level at the break, Katie May Williams opening the scoring after a crossfield Zoe Harris kick, before Faye Gaskin got over after neat footwork. Williams crossed for her second after a great piece of work down the short side, but a Leeds try on the hooter left it poised 14-14 at the break.

The second half saw a tight affair, which was unlocked after 55 mins when a runaround between Gaskin and Mura sent Williams away on a 60m break. After remaining composed and taking the tackle, Saints went through the hands to send Emily Rudge over for what was to be the match winner. Leeds came back into it and lay siege to the Saints goal line for the last ten mins, but an awesome defensive effort kept them out.

The women now move 2 points clear at the top of the table, as they take a break from League affairs to face Hull FC in the Cup in a fortnight.

After the match, we caught up with Mark Brennan and Katie May Williams.
