You only have to go back as far as September for Saints last meeting with Wakefield, in what was to be Saints last home fixture at Langtree Park in 2016.

The game will be most remembered for a Shannon McDonnell hat trick in front of the home fans, but it was a tricky opening half for the Saints, with Louie McCarthy Scarsbrook and Jack Owens crossing for ties, with a Craig Hall try in between giving the visitors hope as they trailed 12-6 at the interval.

The second half saw Saints race away, with Theo Fages scoring later on to go alongside McDonnell’s treble.
