Well, few of us thought we’d do it but Saints sent out a message of intent to the rest of Super League with a superb performance in beating our closest rivals on their own turf, playing out the last twelve minutes with twelve men following the dismissal of Jamie Lyon, but more importantly doing it without Sean Long, proving that we can come up with the goods without our star scrum half. Coupled with a defeat for Hull this leaves us six points clear at the top with just six games remaining and surely the hub cap now is in the bag for the second successive year.
