The traditional "naked run" whereby a player who fails to score over the course of a season has to literally run naked as a forfeit, will this year NOT feature Josh Perry, after he scored TWO trys this afternoon against Castleford.
Discuss Perry's trys in more detail here. |

| Saints Move For Benji At 6??? |

Benji Marshall, Golden Boot winner 2010 and current stand off at Wests Tigers, is seen as a perfect answer to Saints' on going half back dilemma and paired up with fellow Kiwi, Lance Hohaia, at 7, would make a midfield as potent as they come.
Benji was recently relieved of the NZ captaincy and also married Zoe Balbi - without the pressure of skippering the Kiwis and with a new wife keen to explore the world, current Wests bosses, coach Mick Potter and assistant coach Royce Simmons, have no doubt already been telling of life in Sin Tellins and as well as Hohaia, our current squad also features Mark 'Flash' Flanagan who played with Benji at Wests prior to signing for Saints.

It looked liked it could have been a humiliation at one point, but a second half performance of pride and commitment kept things respectable and I suppose that was the best we could have ever hoped for this morning when we woke up to see a Saints line up shorn of almost every key player in the pivotal positions on the park. In the end, a 28-16 defeat was no disgrace and if we could have just tightened up that defence down the middle in the first half it may, just may, have been a little different at the end.

| Full time: Saints 14 Salford 10 |

Saints scrambled their way to an expectedly difficult win as a young side was hampered by some of the most appalling conditions ever seen at a Saints home game.
In a game that went ahead thanks to the tremendous efforts of fans and staff clearing the pitch, Saints gained a credible 14-10 win.

The low attendance sparked debate on the forum as to whether the game should have been played - with polarising views: some fans such as myself (Bronco) believing the extra 2 days rest for the players before a hectic Easter schedule will be beneficial, especially considering Sundays forecast isn't likely to be much better, whilst others such as DD believing the game was played at the fans expense - leading to an abnormally low crowd.
