Day of the Match - Leeds (CCCSF)

Saints may have lost the battle, those cursed Rhinos may have done us again at the most inappropriate of moments, but the overwhelming feeling today is not one of sadness, it’s one of pride after our young lads stood up to the big occasion and a very strong champion side, and came within five minutes or so of pulling off what the morning’s events had made a highly unlikely semi-final victory. Whilst we may not be trotting out at Wembley in three weeks time, we should not despair, those youngsters will take us into the new stadium right up there with the best teams in the country, you can be assured of that.

Day of the Match - A Warrington

For weeks leading up to this game, I can honestly say I wanted us to lose this game just to get that damned record over and done with so that we can talk about something else in the lead up to this fixture, and to just get rid of that horrible sense of doom I have had for five years that the law of averages is going to kick in and it will all come crashing down on us on that inevitable big match meeting. Maybe the night before a possible Challenge Cup Final meeting, maybe I will still wish we had. Such thoughts were with me until approximately 6.45pm last night. However, seconds into the game I realised just how much I hate the bastards. Losing was not an option and I have to say the feeling of joy at the final hooter was right up there with the glorious last minute wins we have had throughout this remarkable 43 match run.
