Newton Storm u10's - Tour to London (SPONSORED WALK)

Im delighted to announce that Newton Storm u10's will be touring London on the weekend of 5th/6th July 2008 - coinciding with the Harlequins v Saints game that weekend.

Early indications are that we will play a round robin of matches against local opposition on the Saturday morning (likely to be Elmbridge and New Malden Magpies) before travelling to the Stoop for the Saints game, then a fixture on the Sunday morning too against either Adlington Lightning, Medway Dragons or Brixton Bulls.

In order to raise some funds for the players towards the cost trip, we are planning a series of events which commence with a Sponsored Walk on Sunday 27th April 2008, with the players (and parents) walking from Newton Sports Club, Newton-le-Willows to the Halliwell Jones Stadium, Warrington, arriving just in time for the Wires v Saints game that kicks off at 3pm that day.

If you would be interested in sponsoring one of the players for this walk, we would greatly appreciate it. Please post below or send me a pm for details on how to pledge your support.

If anyone is staying over in London that weekend and would like to watch some junior RL, you would be more than welcome to come along and support Newton Storm u10's who will be proudly representing the St Helens area!

Can Steve play at fullback for us on that day seeing as Wello is out injured.

Yet another case of waiting far too long to make the right decision
Nobody's perfect .... but everyone stands a chance as long as they don't support Wigan

Id just like to add my thanks to everyone who did the walk - a great effort from everyone to complete it and get so much sponsorship.

Thanks to Steve Prescott and Taylor for joining us on the walk too, your involvement in this fundraiser was certainly appreciated.

FINALLY A BIG THANKYOU TO EVERYONE WHO SUPPORTED THIS EVENT!

It was a bit of a shock for some to bump into Jon Wilkin at the bus stop in Winwick en route......but we got a photo to prove it!

Jon was waiting for a lift with Mike Bennett (honestly!!)
