    Default Wigan to lose O’Loughlin?

A bit of speculation here, but I notice that the League Express say there’s news in their latest issue of a ‘high-profile’ Wigan player asking to leave the club (haven’t bought it after getting click-bait burn from them last time ... anyone seen it?)

Meanwhile, in the small hours of this morning, the Mole tweeted cryptically that he has a ‘dyn-O-mite’ scoop coming.

Is this pointing towards an NRL move for O’Loughlin? That’s a rival seriously weakened, if so.

Not sure but to me he's too old.
Judging by other rumours, it might be Bateman.
He'd flop over there anyway. Simply not big enough. Not a centre either

Could be, but it was the ‘O’ bit in the Mole’s tweet that got me thinking.

There was talk a couple of months ago of Toronto making a move for O’Loughlin, so it could even be them.

The article is about Gelling. Apparently he wants to move back home.

Bateman might then see his chance of becoming a “Centre”.

Funny one that if true because didn't our Wigan friend tell us only last week that Gelling has got British citizenship? Unless by back home you mean Ince.

I would kind of miss Gelling if he left Wigan. His unpredictability can be quite hilarious.

    Haha.

The article just says Wigan are on the lookout for a new centre as Gelling's future is uncertain. It says he has 2 years left on his contract but is "open to leaving the Warriors to be closer to his home in Auckland."

Gelling has got his British citizenship. He's been back home to New Zealand in the off season and there was a "rumour" that the NZ Warriors wanted him. Wigan tried to sign Jarrod Croker, the goal kicking centre from Canberra a short time ago but I haven't heard his name mentioned for a while. I was told there was another signing to come but no names were mentioned.
Nathan Brown made a big offer to O'Loughlin for next season but he turned it down to stay at Wigan.

Edit, HKR are looking for a centre!!

If I was an older player like O'loughlin ( or Roby I suppose) I'd happily take some NRL money for the last 2 or 3 years of my career if it was offered. Not sure many teams would offer O'Loughlin a contract though, given his history with injuries lately.

It's only a couple of weeks ago he was tweeting that he was pleased that he'd just become a British citizen ??

Then again if an NRL club has approached him that could have changed his mind

He might see the Canadian Dollar as the best option with a holiday built into the schedule something like 4 weeks Canada then 4 weeks UK.

So he has used the goons to get his British citizenship and is now heading back down under. Excellent. Can't see he is any loss, he's a complete buffoon.

The only Wigan player with the right profile age wise and enough quality is George Williams. If he went it would be a disaster for Wigan.

He'd only be there for a year, max, and then back like Burgess and Tomkins, disillusioned that he wasn't as good as he thought he was, settling for a career of mediocrity

Croker signed a new deal in August and talks cobstantly about playing Origin. That's the silliest rumour ive heard for a while

Thought you would be in the know by now.

He's off to Toronto - Nobby has sorted out the deal during the World Cup. Good news for you is that like Farrell he'll never last a game once he leaves you.
The "medicine" is better in Wigan........

Bad news for the Pies if it's O'Loughlin or Williams. One is irreplaceable, despite his years and the other is a talent worth developing. Not sure it's such a disaster if it's Gelling who's moving on. The Pies seem to be very much where we were eighteen months or so ago.

The article in the paper which prompted this thread was about Gelling.

The McIlorum "story" has broke since, due to the severity of Hodgson's injury.

Gelling has tweeted that he has gone back to New Zealand to be with his girlfriend who has been injured in a car crash.
