    Default Ratchford

As well as the Gigot rumours a lot of people are saying we've signed Ratchford for 2018, wondering if anyone has any clue if this is true or not?

If either are true it's likely that either Catalan or Warrington have signed Barba and need to make room on their cap.

If Ratchford ends up coming to Saints he would be a good signing. Pity we didn't sign him from Salford before Warrington got in first.

Big fan of Ratchford. Gives good cover across the backs as well as being a top full back

Wow. Gigot now Ratchford. Both pretty enterprising players. Ive always liked Ratchford. They will want decent money but will be worth it IMO. Now it makes you wonder if Cunningham signed players like Peyroux, Lee and Owens on the cheap in order to free up cap space and line the pockets of his mates and senior players.
Perhaps the dismal performances of late are because the squads been told theirs big changes coming under Holbrook and the dummies are all out. I hope theirs a big shake up on the way.

Ratchford would be an excellent signing.

A good signing if true and not just rumour to appease the critics.

I doubt it, but if true he could be a great addition.

Who knows, he said a little bit more than just that. The jist of it was he's staying put. As you say though he might just be saying it.

The fact that these rumours are flying about regarding such talented players is good...........as long as there's some substance to them. If there is substance, than at least it shows the club is now looking forward and at talented players who could revitalise the club, not the talentless plodders imported by KC.

I think ratchford is ok but not brilliant

He is one of those players who falters to deceive imo, lots of bouncing around and jumping about but rarely an end product.

That said we are missing players with energy so would be a welcome addition to our squad, but not the finished product, he didn't last long when given the stand off position at wire, and it was there for the taking after briers left.

Hopefully he will prove me wrong if he comes

Ratchford is a decent player but hes 28 now and never made a position his own. Surely if he's as good as people suggest then he'd have taken the 1/6 shirt and made it his own.

That said, l'd still take him, like Gigot (if true), an upgrade for the squad. Mind you, when we sign Barba, he'll have to be content to be a utility player, an area in which he has plenty of experience.

If that's true, totally proves McManus and his cronies don't care one dot about winning anything. Although it's no guarantee of success by any means, you can't knock Warrington's board, they are constantly trying to be successful.

So they're signing Eastmond and Barba and we're after Matt Whitley and Mark Flanagan. Kind of sums up the last few years doesn't it.

It is worrying how we don't seem to be in for a big name...reminds me of the early 90's when Gus O'Donnell was hailed has a major signing.

I've been told we've made an offer to Barba but can't pay anywhere near what Warrington are offering.

Do these rumours suggest it's the end for Lomax? Maybe he will be kept on in a utility role?

The sort of signing that puts bums on seats and wins you trophies so not for us!
