I think The Championship was his level. He looked a good player in that league but fell short in SL.

A massive signing for them. At that level I think he'll rip it up

Maybe a bit harsh, he showed glimpses of what he could do in SL in what let's face it were pretty poor sides. I'd have taken a punt on him for the right price given how thin on the ground we seem to be in the halves.

Yes, Excellent at that level and attractive to watch.

Not harsh at all. If he was SL standard why is he on his way to Toronto?

Because he wants to play for Rowley ? If it takes off it will be an amazing experience too

If he was genuinely of SL standard, why would a struggling team like Huddersfield let him go?

Good opportunity for him and for Toronto. Not much else to say really.

I can see Toronto being 'too' successful this season. With the players they've got and all being full time, playing the likes of Oxford, Hemel and Gloucestershire will be a cakewalk, and a lot of their games could end up around the 100 point mark.

Now Mr Assasin you are in danger of taking on the mantle of our resident loony from over the hill. Back to the player in question yards of space when your quick and full time against part time players not so simple on a more level playing field. Dawson looked electric in the championship. Even Les would be seen as pacey at Hemel Stags.

Well faces don't always fit and Stone didn't sign him , plenty better players have left clubs for similar reasons.

Lets see how Toronto go on this Sunday in the Challenge Cup against Salford

I think their players have signed up for the long term though. They're currently averaging 62 points again, conceding 8. To be fair Barrow are flying along too in league one.

Be interesting how they both go in their super eights against the bottom championship sides

Massively over-rated for me. Had great pace but that's just about it. Doesn't have a good kicking or passing game and very weak defensively, he needs an organising half next to him otherwise he really struggles. When Leigh were playing well it was invariably Ridyard who was pulling the strings not Brierley, he just got all the plaudits because of the number of try's he scored.
He's found his level back in the Championship I think.

Rate both Brierley and Gaskell, if the club had been able to manage Foster we would have won many more games with the number of Goal Kicks Missed!

Do you think Toronto would be interested in a swap deal for him?

If I were a player and Toronto came in for me, I would probably jump at the chance. What an experience that would be.

Agreed. It doesn't surprise me at all that he's taking a step back down.

I posted on here last year that Huddersfield were trying to get rid and that Brierley was offered back to Leigh, but they weren't interested.

Hardly a surprise given the way he left
